Curry Mango


4-5 Green Mango
2 tbsp curry powder
3 tbsp masala (black)
1 onion chopped
6 cloves garlic crushed
1 ½ tsp salt
½ cup sugar
Hot pepper (optional)


Step 1: Cut each mango length wise into 8 pieces.

Step 2: Boil mango for about 20 minutes to take the sour taste out, then drain and put aside.

Step 3: Mix curry powder in ½ cup of water to form a thin paste.

Step 4: Heat oil in heavy pot. Add onion and garlic; cook for 2 minutes, add curry paste and cook for an additional 2 minutes on low heat, stir constantly.

Step 5: Add mangos and stir to coat with curry.

Step 6: Add 2 cups water, garlic, salt, sugar, pepper and anchar masala.

Step 7: Lower heat, cover and cook until mangos are tender.

Step 8: Taste for salt, pepper, sugar and add if needed.
